Land Rover is a British car manufacturer with its headquarters at the Gaydon site near Gaydon, United Kingdom which specialises in four-wheel drive vehicles. It is owned by Indian company Tata Motors, forming part of its Jaguar Land Rover subsidiary. It is the second-oldest four-wheel drive car brand in the world, after Jeep.
Land Rover originated as one specific vehicle, originally known just as the Land Rover and developed into a marque encompassing a range of four-wheel drive models, including the Defender, Discovery, Freelander, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. Land Rovers are currently assembled in Halewood, UK and Solihull, UK.
